FIRSTPLAY POLICIES

Firstplay terms

Effective October 26, 2026. Firstplay is a Bungalow Game Studios marketplace connecting game creators with independent playtesters.

Using Firstplay

You must provide accurate account information. Paid participation is for adults at least 18 years old. Keep your login secure and use only your own account. Country and Stripe verification requirements apply.

Creator responsibilities

Post games you have the right to share and accurately describe their platform, content, expected session length, and feedback requirements. Do not request unlawful activity, credential sharing, purchases outside the funded brief, or a positive review in exchange for payment. Game links must be HTTPS.

Private direct hires

Members can share their public profile and receive one-off private offers. Creators choose a game, brief, session length and USD reward, then fund the reward plus a 15% fee. Only a verified Stripe payment sends the offer. The tester has seven days to accept and must complete adult eligibility and supported-country payout onboarding before acceptance. Declined, withdrawn or unanswered offers expire with a full reward-and-fee refund. After acceptance, the tester has seven days to submit; the same feedback, correction, approval, dispute and mutual-rating rules apply. Submitted work cannot be cancelled unilaterally. Private game details are shared only with participants and administrators; public peer ratings remain public.

Free game polls

Creators can publish free text, image, or video polls for games they have previously published as funded playtests, including closed playtests. Voting is free and requires a verified member account, with one vote per poll. Polls are separate from paid feedback and do not earn rewards. Published questions and option labels cannot be edited; creators may close voting while preserving results. Share only media you have the right to publish and do not manipulate votes.

Funding and fees

Each listing is funded before publication. The creator pays the advertised tester rewards plus a 15% platform fee, shown before Checkout. Fees are calculated per funded spot in cents. Firstplay earns the corresponding fee on approved tests. Stripe processes payments and payouts.

Tester responsibilities

Apply only if you can run the game and complete the brief. Accepted testers have seven days to submit their own written feedback. Answer the creator’s questions honestly. Do not submit copied, fabricated, or automated work as your own experience. A negative opinion alone does not justify withholding a reward.

Review and completion

Creators have seven days to approve a submission, request one specific correction to the original brief, or raise a dispute. A submission auto-approves after its review deadline unless a timely dispute or correction pauses review. A correction is due within seven days; resubmission starts a final seven-day review period. A missed correction deadline enters administrator review. After completion, both participants must leave an explicit 1–5-star peer rating before continuing in Firstplay. Written comments are optional. Ratings do not condition reward approval, transfer, or bank payout.

Payments and independent participation

Approved rewards are transferred to eligible verified Stripe accounts. Pending settlement, country rules, conversion, bank delivery, and provider restrictions affect withdrawal timing. Participation does not create employment or guarantee future assignments. Testers are responsible for taxes applicable to their earnings; Stripe may require tax information.

Conduct and moderation

Do not harass, impersonate others, manipulate reviews, submit malicious game links, or evade payment restrictions. Firstplay may hide listings, restrict accounts, or investigate suspicious activity. Moderation does not erase legitimate payment obligations.

Support and account closure

Use the signed-in Help contact form for account or payment support. You may request account deletion in Account settings. Active playtests, refunds, and balances must be resolved before deletion; transaction and dispute records may be retained where required.
