A LITTLE GUIDANCE. BETTER FEEDBACK.

How to playtest.

Eight simple steps from your first launch to feedback a game creator can actually use.

STEP 2 OF 8

Prepare your notes

A tiny bit of preparation makes feedback useful.

Use Apple Notes, Notepad, a text document, or paper. Jot short observations while playing; write full answers afterwards.

GAME / BUILD:
DEVICE / OS / CONTROLLER:
BRIEF / REQUIRED PLAY TIME:

TIME OR LOCATION:
WHAT I WAS TRYING TO DO:
WHAT I EXPECTED:
WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED:
HOW IT FELT / WHY IT MATTERS:
STEPS TO REPEAT IT / HOW OFTEN:
SCREENSHOT FILENAME OR CLIP TIMESTAMP:

FAVORITE MOMENT AND WHY:
BIGGEST FRICTION AND WHY:
WOULD I WISHLIST / PLAY AGAIN? WHY?

Example: “04:20 · First bridge · I pressed E expecting to interact, but nothing happened. The prompt only appeared when I moved closer. Happened twice; screenshot bridge-prompt.png.”

Put it into practice.
